Car crashes into house on Anglesey
Emergency services were called to Brynsiencyn High Street on Anglesey earlier today after a car crashed into a house. The incident happened on the A4080, High Street, Brynsiencyn, Llanfairpwll. North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they attended the scene following reports that a person was trapped inside the vehicle. However, the individual managed to get out without assistance. Police and ambulance crews were also in attendance, and people have been urged to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the aftermath. Read what happened here.

Late night dip sparks major emergency response
A late-night swimmer sparked a significant emergency response last night. Police, the Coastguard, an RNLI lifeboat and a rescue helicopter were all dispatched to the scene near Conwy bridge following reports of a person in the water. However, after an hour-long search and investigation it was determined that the individual had safely exited the water on their own. A spokesperson for the Coastguard referred to the incident as a "false alarm". Read the full story here.

North Wales Police issue road closure
The A499 Penrhos Pwllheli road has been closed due to an ongoing incident, reports North Wales Police. The closure is in place between the roundabout from Pwllheli and Llanbedrog. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and consider alternative routes until further notice.

Scarlets star targeted by Saracens
Scarlets hooker Marnus van der Merwe is the subject of interest from English giants Saracens as he enters the final year of his contract. The Springboks star, who has recently broken into the South African national squad, has been a revelation since moving to south Wales in 2024 and is attracting interest from teams in his homeland and England, according to RugbyPass. Update following collision in Bridgend
Traffic is now easing following an earlier accident on the B4280 this evening. The road had been closed in both directions between Heol Llan and High Street, Bridgend.

Here are all your traffic updates, as of 17:48 pm:
- A55 Britannia Bridge, Gwynedd – Strong winds are affecting traffic between J9 A487 (Treborth) and J8 A5 (Llanfair P.G.). A matrix sign is in place, with the speed limit reduced to 30 mph for safety.
B4280, Bridgend – The road remains closed in both directions due to a serious accident between Heol Llan and High Street. Traffic in the area is currently coping well.
A4067 Oystermouth Road, Swansea – Slow-moving traffic in both directions at West Way (Tesco traffic lights). Current travel time is approximately ten minutes.

According to the Met Office, we can expect a cloudy evening as rain gradually clears eastwards. Conditions will turn drier with some clearer spells developing across eastern areas. Meanwhile, a few blustery showers will continue to affect western regions. It will remain windy for most places throughout the night, with temperatures hovering around the seasonal average.

Vehicle fire on Talbot Green
Emergency services are currently attending to a vehicle fire on the A4119 Talbot Green. The northbound carriageway is reduced to one lane between the M4 roundabout and the traffic lights near the Castell Mynach pub. Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible and use alternative routes, as delays are expected.

Serious collision closes road
Police are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the B4280 near Heol-y-Cyw. The road is closed in both directions between the junction with Heol Llan and the High Street junction. The closure is expected to remain in place for some time, and significant delays are likely. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes where possible.

Appeal to find missing teenagers
South Wales Police have launched an appeal to help locate two people missing from the Kent area, believed to be in Cardiff. Noah, 17, was last seen on Wednesday, July 30 and family are growing increasingly concerned about his welfare. He has ginger hair, however CCTV images suggest that he has since dyed his hair black and it appears to be longer. He is accompanied by Gracie, 18. Police say that the teenagers could be in or around the city centre of Cardiff, or in the Barry area. Further information can be found here.

M4 live updates as multiple incidents cause disruption
A number of incidents are causing disruption on the M4. Lane two of the M4 eastbound from junction 43 Llandarcy to junction 42 Earlswood is currently shut due to flooding. Traffic Wales is asking people to allow additional time for travel in the area. Cameras in the area show there is some congestion in the area as well as on other parts of the M4. The AA is reporting severe delays of 16 minutes between junctions 48 and 43 while there is also queuing traffic around junction. Live updates here.

Crash shuts two lanes of M4
Two lanes on the M4 in Bridgend are closed due to a crash. Vehicles are now on the hard shoulder on M4 Westbound from J35 A473 (Pencoed) to J36 A4061 (Bridgend / Sarn Service Area). Lanes two and three (of three) remain closed for clean-up after traffic was briefly held to move the car on to the hard shoulder.

Little boy died months after catching cold
Joseph Yeandle was a cheeky, lovable little boy whose energy could light up any room. To Emma Rees, also known as Joseph's Auntie Ems, at just three years old Joseph's boundless enthusiasm and natural charisma made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him. It's these moments of joy and mischief that his family holds close as they continue to honour Joseph's memory through Joseph's Smile; the charity co-founded by Emma and Joseph's mother Katy after his death in 2021. Changes proposed to holiday home tax rules in Wales
Holiday let owners across Wales could soon benefit from more flexible tax rules as the Welsh Government launches a consultation on proposed changes to the self-catering property criteria. Since April 2023, self-catering properties have been required to be available for 252 days a year and actually let for 182 days to pay non-domestic rates instead of council tax. The rules were introduced to ensure property owners make a fair contribution to their local communities. But holiday-let owners have voiced alarm over the impact of council tax demands. Full story.

Wales international makes debut for new country
Former Wales international Uilisi Halaholo has made his international rugby return at the age of 35. The centre came off the bench for Tonga in second half of the Pacific Nations Cup clash against Fiji. The Met Office website states for Wales on Saturday: "A rather grey start, with rain soon arriving from the west. Wet and windy thereafter, with persistent rain turning heavy at times. Feeling especially gusty over higher ground, with strong winds bringing a risk of coastal gales. Maximum temperature 19 °C. "Rain will gradually clear to the east with scattered showers to follow through this evening. Some dry, clear spells developing overnight, but remaining breezy for all. Minimum temperature 10 °C."

Man loses use of limb after dental surgery
A Swansea man who went to his GP after feeling ill and was sent home with just an antibiotic has now lost the use of his right arm. Michael Gwyther found himself at Morriston Hospital A&E after he went to his GP on December 4, 2024 as he was feeling unwell. Due to the nature of his infection Michael, from Swansea, asked to see a male GP but there was none available at his surgery, so he was referred to another GP surgery in the network that had male doctors available. Here he claims he was giving no diabetic tests and was simply sent home with antibiotics.
