UPDATE: The Bucharest Court of Appeal decided that Adriana Georgescu, lawyer and PNL member, and her accomplice, Gheorghe Iscru, the fake SIE general, should be placed in preventive detention for 30 days.

Instead, they promised him that they would intervene with the magistrates for the favorable resolution of two criminal cases in which he was a defendant.

"During October - December 2025, at different time intervals, but in carrying out the same criminal resolution, the defendant GAM would have claimed from a person (witness in question), directly or through another person, for himself, but also for another, different sums of money, of which he would have received the sums of 4,000 euros and 5,000 lei during the month of October 2025.

In this context, the defendant would have let it be believed that, through some politicians, she would have influence on some magistrates, promising that she would cause them to carry out acts contrary to their duties, namely the favorable resolution of two criminal cases, one of which was being processed at the DNA, and the other before the Bucharest Court, cases in which the witness had the capacity of defendant."says the official press release of DNA.

He asked for money for the election campaign in the Capital

According to the prosecutors, at one point it even reached the sum of one million euros in bribes. The lawyer and the fake general SIE requested this money, claiming that it will be used for the election campaign of one of the candidates for the Capital City Hall.

"On November 21, 2025, the defendant GAM allegedly demanded from the witness in question, through the other person, a sum of money between 100,000 euros and 1,000,000 euros, intended for the election campaign of one of the candidates for the City Hall of the Capital, letting it be believed that, through him, he would have influence on some magistrates and promising the favorable resolution of the two criminal cases in which the witness was a defendant."DNA shows.

When they saw that it was not "working" they reduced the amounts for the rope

The two were unsuccessful with this request. so, according to investigators, they reduced the amount demanded as bribes. Up to 500 thousand euros, of which they requested, for the beginning, 120 thousand euros, in three installments.

"In January 2026, the defendant IG, benefiting from the support of the defendant GAM, allegedly demanded from the witness in question, through another person (authorized in the case as an undercover investigator), the sum of 120,000 euros, in three installments, out of the total sum of 500,000 euros.

In this context, the defendant would have let it be believed that he would have influence on some judges of the Bucharest Court, as well as on the chief prosecutor of the DNA, promising to determine them to carry out acts contrary to their duties, namely the favorable resolution of two criminal cases, one of which was being processed at the DNA, and the other on the role of the Bucharest Court, cases in which the witness had the capacity of defendant.

Based on the claim, on January 28, 2026, the defendants IG and GAM received from the undercover investigator the sum of 60,000 euros, representing the first two installments of the requested benefit, a circumstance in which the anti-corruption prosecutors proceeded to establish the flagrant crime."the DNA press release shows.
