The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, first revealed in 1989, is a self-help guide written by Stephen R. Covey. It has bought over 15 million copies in 38 languages since first publication, which was marked by the discharge of a fifteenth anniversary version in 2004. The guide lists seven rules that, if established as habits, are supposed to assist an individual obtain true interdependent effectiveness. Covey argues that is achieved by aligning oneself to what he calls "true north" rules of a personality ethic that he believes to be common and timeless.
